That blinking eyes
Tuesday, July 31, 2007

Zann has been blinking her eyes since last Fri.
Which was after I fetched her from the part time nanny.

Initially, I thought it was a mere imitation,
and would go away after a few days.

I was wrong.
Until now, the blinking doesn't stop.
The frequency has turned extensively le.
It's an ugly sight lor. Blink and blink and blink !
How to make this ugly habit go away?

This morning, I brought her to see a paediatrician.
Both of eyes were examined and I was told that her eyes reflux
is normal and yes, it's a habit which will go away somehow.

And it may take weeks or even months!
So what if the habit still doesnt go away how?
There's no assurance lei.

--------

I never like Prima Deli bakery shop,
esp the one near our place.
Their service really sux man...
But I decided to go in,
to take a look at their cupcakes creation.
Not much designs to choose from.
And they come in only one flavour that is vanilla.

So no chocolate lor. So limited ar.....

When I asked for ONE cupcake,
the lady boss gave me a kind of look.
Eh...I cant buy ONE cupcake isit ?
Her service really sucks la.

Banned...YES I am banning this shop.
This will be Zann's last treat from that Prima Deli !

play. eat. laugh. love.

Afternoon tea was homemade ham pizza I prepared for Zann.
I used ordinary white bread with butter, chopped ham and cheese.

an inexpensive, simple and fast...

Later afternoon was play play and play...

A lazy sunday, spent happily, with Zann. *Grins*

Welcome home ...
Friday, July 27, 2007

So today was my first day at my new job and and and..
AL is coming back home from Sydney as well.

So, how's first half day at work, Cendrine?
Disappointment and culture shock.
And yes, I am having second thought now.

Tired. After fetching Zann from Jenny, the part time nanny,
the second half day was spent in the childcare. It was only on trial anyway.

I was kind of disappointed with the teacher there.
Zann was slapped by another older girl..over the toys.
I saw and told the small girl, that she shouldn't do that,
and toys must be shared!

And the teacher merely said,
" Come come, cannot beat mei mei, must sayang mei mei ok. "
Wah..so that sharing part wasn't mentioned at all lei !

I am at a loss now. Maybe I should change the childcare centre ?

Heh...We never seem to have enough of KK.
AL came back from Sydney today and
bought another two boxes of KK donuts.

2 dozens, to be precise..haha
This time we really have an overdose of donuts !!!
What can i say ..they are so awesomely divine that
I finished half a box already.
Think these KK will last my donut cravings.

i *heart* Krispy Kreme...

Obviously, i cannot resist them.

Hmm...I must remember to exercise....kekeke

er hur..can i make it ?

I wanted to improve our life quality.
Yet I am feeling ambivalent
about a decision I made.
Have you been through how I felt?
I’m so insecure about myself sometimes
Just wondering what I want out of myself and my life?
Though the gap of not working isn't long,
But somehow I still lose confidence. Can I cope?

I will miss Zann. Will think if she's in good care.

Will miss her daily routines.
Will miss the times I have with her.

Any insecure folks out there ?
Maybe we can all hang out together.
Misery seeks company. Heh.

I am almost there..hmm

A great big thanx to all the encouraging tags *grinz*

It’s a ‘I feel good’ day, and I really feel good today.

That thing about the cake ...
Sunday, July 22, 2007

A day of my leisure in Bugis.

About Strawberry shortcake and Cinnonmon Coffee treat in TCC.

Sweet stuffs make me HAPPY !

To my fairy godmother,

can i have unlimited serving of cakes or pastries ? haha

Saw a wedding cake that no bridal couple will get to cut.
Why? cos it's SINGAPORE’S TALLEST WEDDING CAKE.

Why must they put Ken and Barbie at the top tier. Why hur?
Pssst...I don't like them. These two stewpid dolls...
Would you want to pay $50,000 for the entire cake?

I need more 'wise' words lidat.

Sat = home cooked dinner
Saturday, July 21, 2007

My neighbour cooked fried prawns 2 days ago.
How I knew? Cos...that smell had spead to my room...hahaha

Ever since, my craving for fried prawns was getting stronger...
So strong until I couldn't endure liao la.

And so, tada... I cooked lor.

This is not a Spoof hor. Cendrine's culinary skill can pass de la...haha

So, tell me they look appealing or not?

How are you, Cendrine ?

Colourful jellybeans frm JellyBelly. I am hooked.
Choices and Flavours. I need them... in my life. Haha.

Who says life is sugar-coated as many sees it to be.

So, how are you, Cendrine?
Alright. My day's fine.

Nothing exceptional.
But praying for blessing though.
Cos I am just trying to get a job, still.
Trying hard again.

To fill my days, to earn an income, to fit into working society..blah blah blah.

Let's look forward to the future, I tell myself.
Things are sure going to be brighter after I have found a job. Yes?

There! I have sent out my resumes. And I am called for interview on Mon.

Will I win this contest ?

*thinking*

Does fairytales exist ?
Friday, July 20, 2007

Dear fairy god-mother,

Here I am, writing you this letter
Hoping that u can grant all my wishes.

That is take away all my worries and fears.
Of the uncertainties which lie ahead.
Of the insecurities which overcome me.
Of the imperfections which face me.

Truly yours.

Hi-5 toys, where to get ?
Wednesday, July 18, 2007

Zann loves Hi-5.

Think every most of the kids do.
Even I, myself oso loves them.

While I was in Sydney, I tried looking around for Hi-5's plush toys.
But I couldn't get any. They only have the DVDs, which cost A$14.99.

I have a few CDs back in Singapore, so I guessed it's not worth.

Recently, there's news that Hi5 member Kathleen is quitting to focus
on being mother to her 12 months old daughter, Mikayla.
She's taking some time off to be with her family in Sydney.

Alright. I am not her great fan, but then I find it a pity.
Cos I thought she has the best singing voice in the show.

Yeah. They are coming in Aug. There'll be a stage show.
I am thinking to bring Zann along. Shld I ?

My thoughts...
Tuesday, July 17, 2007

When I first learnt that Zann's mucus contained blood,
I decided to shorten my trip here.

And only me and Zann will be going home.
While AL is still there.

There were a few hours to burn before my flight back to Singapore.
It was in Sydney airport where I had found a Krispy Kreme store.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts are not available in Singapore or Malaysia!
And so, I decided to order my first dozen of mixed assortment
which I handcarry back to Singapore!

With 2 handcarry slingbag and haversack + 2 paperbags +
1 KK box + a 19 mths old toddler

So can u visualise how I looked like when I boarded the plane?

Feeling rather sad leaving Sydney.
It's as though we've been 'home' for a while.
It was a long plane ride to Singapore,
which caused me more tired than ever.
Didnt manage to sleep at all during the 7 hours +++ of flight.
I have to be awake, for the sake of Zann.

When we reached Singapore,
I almost had problem handcarry all the stuffs back.
Lucky, there's this air steward offered to help me carry.
I remembered his name, Lenard Tan. Quite good looking though..hee

I made a stupid blunder.
I actually went to queue under international passport counter
when there's a counter specially for Singaporeans!
Oh man...so embarrassing! hahaha.

Somemore, I was corrected by another yan dao
(not bad looking) immigration officer lor...

It's 31C when we reached home.
And yes, Zann and me started to sweat like a cow. hahaha...

Everyone in the family agrees that the KK doughnuts are good!
Damn good. In fact, so much better than Dunkin Donuts.

I WANT A Krispy Kreme store in Singapore pleasssse........

-------------

What I have learnt in Sydney,

Everything is so expensive there! Including their fruits.
Imagine paying S$9 for a bunch of bananas?
The frequency of the trains and buses are super slow.
It can be a frustrating wait.
Not forgeting the wide gap between the platform and the train!
So wide can slide in a body lor
That part could make my leg turned jelly....

Especially taking up to one hour to travel for only 5 stops.
The cold weather here is making Zann's and my lips
to crack despite slathering lots of lip balm.

Their lotteries is so called The Powerball, similiar to our Toto.
Did u catch that tagline " Spend the rest of your life" ? haha

P.s. Sydney is a beautiful city. Though I have not covered all,
but the lovely memories I have, still fresh in my mind.
Hope to go there again if there's a chance to. *Grins*

Exploring around Part II
Saturday, July 14, 2007

Today should be one of the best days of the trip here.
We had an early breakfast at Circulay Quay's MacDonald.
After which we went straight to Sydney's top attractions -
the Harbour Bridge & the Opera House.

It was awesome. A very pleasant start to the day.

We were walking around exploring, went into a few stores.
Saw the Strand Arcade.
The shoppes line each side of a covered
walkway with little cafes on the ground floor.

And I bought some nougats from Haighs Chocolates.

We stopped by Michel Expresso for a drink.

Dinner was at Central, where the Chinatown is.
I ordered the dory fillet for Zann. A$7.90.

We saw Sydney's best view from the
Sydney Tower's observation deck.

And it was AL's wish to venture up.
Though I found that the Tower's experience
was a waste of money, plus the queue to go up
and to come down was super long.

The story behind the 'sushi' meal
Friday, July 13, 2007

Waited for AL for more than an hour at TownHall.
Both Zann and me were soooo hungry man.

Zann started to wail for my attention while waiting.
I carried her but the crying still didn't stop.
Before long, there was a crowd surrounded me and Zann.
People thought I was ill treating my daughter.

Ended up a social worker came and bought us a sushi meal!

19 months old
Thursday, July 12, 2007

Yeah, she has grown one month older.
Time is passing so fast.
And we are in Sydney for almost 2 weeks...

She's playing with that soft ball I have got her recently.
See how happy she was...

Here's her growth summary:

She loves to talk, but only gibberish comes out…hahaha

SSShoe, Barbar (ball/ bear), mmm..mum (eating),
gog gog (doggy), nei nei (milk)

She nods and shakes head when I asked "do u want? "
Though I dont know if she really understand, but at least
it makes my life easier abit..hur

She is still very temperamental.
When I says "NO", she will starts to wail and worse, lying on the floor.
This has become her protesting habit in the public...sigh

Walking and running everywhere
once her feet is on the ground. Scarie yea...and that makes
the mummy - me running after her.

make me FEEL good...
Wednesday, July 11, 2007

This is good.

My favourite. Chocolates!

Not only oral pleasure, mind pleasure to my

pms-sy mood now.

彩虹...
Monday, July 9, 2007

I am greeted with the arc of spectral colors this morning.
ahhh, just the sight of it managed to perk my Mon...

I took my camera out for a walk in the CBD.
While me enjoying the luxury of my breakfast,
Zann was in her slumberland...

I wanted to get a softball for Zann.
And so, I got her one from this toy shop.

Zann loves crowds. Especially places with children and toys around.
Being the only asian kid, I guessed that make her more
easily stand out in the group of Aussie kiddos ar...

But not all are friendly though.
Call them racist/ rude/ or ..hmm

Not even a word apology when Zann was knocked
by a running Aussie toddler. I certainly wasn't happy.

Exploring the heart of Sydney ...
Sunday, July 8, 2007

We were at TownHall today.
So many shopping malls to comb.

The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) was the first stop.
I was mesmerised by its fine Romanesque architecture.
It housed cafes, restaurants and high-end boutiques.

Next to it is Galeries Victoria. These 2 malls got me confused intially.
TGV is a more newer shopping mall as compared.

There is an international food court inside Myer.
Myer, an australian retailer, is alike to Spore Takashimaya.
We had our lunch there. It's not cheap though.

Anyway, everything in Aussie is never cheap.

And after a loooong walk, my 5 years old sneakers
were finally worn out. The soles had came off lor.....
In the end, I still settled for adidas.
Got a new pair with additional 15% off.
U saw the bin?
yah, my old adidas was inside....'buried' in Sydney...!

Sydney Wildlife World
Saturday, July 7, 2007

I was down with fever today.
But I fulfilled my promise to Zann.

And the sick me doesnt stop myself bringing her to the wildlife Zoo.
and and seeing Austrialia's national icon, Koala Bear. Yeah...

Cool Slideshows!

P.s. I didnt get to see Wombat though...
Only managed to see the soft toy version..sigh

I couldnt resist to buy the soft toy back.
For A$20, I guessed it's worth.

That scooter ...
Friday, July 6, 2007

was on loan from the chambermaid here.
She thought that Zann was bored so she brought
this scooter toy from her home. So thoughtful eh...

I appreciated it. I told her I will return her soon.

A walk in the park
Thursday, July 5, 2007

I am thinking of some outdoor activities for Zann.
So, me brought her to a nearby park this morning.
Bigger space for her to roam about...

Her soft ball was brought along, but it went missing.
Alright no ball. Just a walk and run in the park.
Enough to make my ger occupied and happy.

I didnt let her sit on the swing and rides though.
I find them rusty. Unsafe to swing ? hmm...

She was amused by her own shadow.

Here comes my shadow as well...heh

It's quite windy in the morning.
I like the feeling when the wind blows onto my face. Shiok man...haha
We stayed merely for an hour. Before my tummy started rumbling.

And I travelled over 2km to get myself a lunch.
Zann's ? Well, I have cooked her lunch using slow cooker.
Cant trust the super saltish food outside.

My lunch ~ fried rice. Cost me $5.80.
With added msg..i think..haha
Really saltish lor...but it's fulfilling for me.
I wonder if it's the cold weather that's making me hungry...
