I never like to drink beverages, let alone coffee.
Itwas only when I started to work 6 years ago,
that I learnt there were so many different
types of hokkien terms for
coffee (Kopi).
It's not the starbucks or coffeeclub type.
I am talking about the terms used
in our own Singapore coffeeshop.
I hope I am not to late to learn these terms :
- Kopi-C (coffee w condensed milk ?)
- Kopi-O (coffee black)
- Tak-kiu (Milo)
- Tai-ka-ho (Holicks)
- Teh-O Peng (Iced tea)
- Tiao-her (chinese tea)
Correct me if I am wrong..hehe
And do tell me if there's any more terms.
Seriously, I couldnt remember which was which liao.
But I defintely goes for the bitter black coffee.
Yea, the one with no sugar added lor...
"Eh, you are not that old...wah can't tell that u drink this type of kopi lei ?"This was the type of response I usually got.
Aiyo, who cares la...I happy can liao...right?
